The Serengeti, Tanzania's most famous and popular national park (14 763 square kilometers in size) borders Kenya's Masai Mara. The Serengeti is not to be missed, remember to book well in advance for the annual wildlife migration.

Tanzania, located in Eastern Africa Africa and is bordered by Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Zambia, Malawi and Mozambique.

Formerly known as Tanganyika, Tanzania adopted its new name upon independence in 1961. Today in Tanzania is one of the top safari destinations, with The Serengeti, and Ngorongoro Crater being 2 of the most visited attractions in Eastern Africa.

Getting into Tanzania:

* By air - There are 2 international airport i.e. Julius Nyerere International Airport in Dar Es salaam and Kilimanjaro International Airport near the town of Arusha.

* By road - It's not advised to self drive in Tanzania, unless you are fully experienced with driving conditions in developing countries.

English is widely spoken by everybody.

Health:

Malaria is found in all areas of Tanzania, except for altitudes over 1800 m (5906 ft) - precautions need to be taken.
