Formerly known as Tanganyika, Tanzania adopted its new name upon independence in 1961. Today in Tanzania is one of the top safari destinations, with The Serengeti, and Ngorongoro Crater being 2 of the most visited attractions in Eastern Africa.

Getting into Tanzania:

* By air - There are 2 international airport i.e. Julius Nyerere International Airport in Dar Es salaam and Kilimanjaro International Airport near the town of Arusha.

* By road - It's not advised to self drive in Tanzania, unless you are fully experienced with driving conditions in developing countries.

Lanuage:

English is widely spoken by everybody.

Health:

Malaria is found in all areas of Tanzania, except for altitudes over 1800 m (5906 ft) - precautions need to be taken.

The AIDS/ HIV infection rate of Tanzania is estimated at 9%. Please be responsible.
